Stylish is a PG+13, for-profit SFW Haikyuu! fashion fanzine focused on the captains from the different teams. The zine follows the captains as they guide us through their fashion routine, on and off the court!
Contributors are free to decide what fashion style suits each captain
Faq
Q: What is a fanzine?
A: A zine in short is a collaborative artbook filled with art, writing, and is usually accompanied by physical merch. Zines usually feature work for fandom or a mix of them! In order to enter into zines you have to be accepted (application form) or invited (guest contributor). Every zine is unique in terms of what fandom the contributors create for, their cause, and the participants.
Q: What will the zine’s specs be?
A: 7in x 10in
Q: What timezone is the zine using?
A: The zine will be using the same timezone as the head mod, EST!
Q: How many contributors will you be accepting?
A: We will be accepting 25 artists, 3 guest artists, 10 writers, and 6 merch artists. These numbers are subject to change depending on the interest check and amount of applications. We will also be providing pinch-hitter positions!
Q: Will the zine be for-profit or charity?
A: The zine will be for-profit! Profit made will be equally distributed between contributors. However, if a contributor does not want to recieve payment, they have the option to donate their share to charity or distribute their share among the remaining contributors!
Q: Will the zine be physical or digital?
A: The zine will be both physical and digital!
Q: What is the theme?
A: The theme of Stylish is fashion. This is very vague for the purpose of giving creative freedom to the contributors! Anything related to fashion, whether it be a photoshoot, a magazine cover, or just posing in fashionable clothes in general, is up for grabs!
Q: Do we have to come up with our own designs for the zine?
A: Not at all! Feel free to use clothing styles from different fashion genres as a reference.
Q: Will the gen second and third year captains make an appearance?
A: Yes! As long as the characters canonically became captain they are free to draw.
Q: Can characters other than the captains be included?
A: Characters other than the captains can be included! But they should not be the focus of the piece, as the captains are the main focus of the zine.
Q: Will ships be allowed/included?
A: This will be a gen zine, so there will be no ship art/hints as the focus of the zine is fashion.
Do you accept traditional work?
A: Sadly we will not be accepting traditional work. We would like to mimic a magazine, where they usual don’t contain traditional work!
Q: How will I be compensated if I participate as a contributor?
A: The plan is to provide all contributors with a free digital pdf. We would like to provide our hard-working contributors with a free physical copy of the zine, but this depends on how successful our preorder sales are. In the case that we can’t provide a free physical copy, the contributors can purchase the zine and merch at production cost. If the zine ends up being for profit, all remaining sales (after providing the contributors with a free physical copy) will be equally distributed to all contributors via paypal.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: We ask that you are at least 15 years or older. As you join this zine keep in mind that you should have a paypal/parent’s paypal and will be willing to provide your address if you would like a physical copy of the zine.
Q: Will there be manga spoilers?
A: Yes. The zine will include details from the manga that contains spoilers so to avoid this you can catch up to HQ! chapter 402.
Q: Do we have to have haikyuu pieces in our portfolio?
A: It’s not necessary but greatly appreciated. Pieces with haikyuu characters help the mods better understand how you draw certain characters!
